THE COMPANY
Our client is a renowned metalworking company with a long-standing tradition in delivering high-quality, turnkey projects. Specializing in the design and fabrication of metal structures, the company serves a wide range of industries including infrastructure, telecommunications, and industrial construction. As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking a highly skilled Tendering Coordinator to lead the tendering process, ensuring that project designs are accurately estimated in terms of time, costs, and resources.
THE ROLE
We are searching for a Tendering Coordinator to join our client’s team. The responsibilities include coordinating all technical and commercial offering activities within the company focusing on fabricated metal structures and assemblies, developing tender policies, and analysing technical challenges in the production chains for cost estimation and commercial bidding.
Your expertise in reading and understanding design projects will be crucial in estimating the production timeline and costs. Working closely with internal teams and clients, you will ensure that offers are competitive and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender Management: Coordinate all tendering activities, including analyzing client requirements and preparing technical and commercial offers for metal structures and turnkey projects. Verify the alignment of tenders with contractual requirements and ensure compliance with all stipulations before final submission
- Project Estimation: Review design documentation to accurately estimate production times, material costs, and labor requirements for each project with support from clients and internal departments such as engineering, procurement, and design.
- Client Liaison: Work closely with clients to clarify technical details and ensure that their requirements are fully understood and incorporated into the offer.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments such as production, procurement, and design to ensure seamless coordination and accurate cost estimations. Cultivate relationships with new and existing suppliers to expand the company’s sourcing options.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve the tendering process to increase efficiency, reduce response times, and enhance the overall success rate of bids. Monitor market trends and supplier landscapes to maintain competitive bidding and sourcing strategies
- ERP Management: Ensure that all relevant project information is accurately entered into the company’s ERP system for tracking and execution.
- Team Management: Hold full authority for the execution of responsibilities and decision-making within the tendering department, empowering proactive and strategic leadership in project management and client negotiations. Contribute to the training and development of the tendering team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and skill enhancement
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, strategic and adept at multitasking in a dynamic manufacturing environment professional with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in tendering and project estimation ideally in metalworking and turnkey structural projects.
- Educational Background: A degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field is required.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in the metalworking industry, with a focus on tendering and project estimation for complex, large-scale projects.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project designs, with a deep understanding of the production processes involved.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting complex data and metrics. Proven track record in cost optimization and budget management for large projects
- ERP Proficiency: Experience using ERP systems to manage project offers and track project execution.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate between clients and internal teams, ensuring accurate and timely offers.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required.
