THE ROLE
The Technical Manager will lead and manage maintenance, engineering, and facility processes, with a strong emphasis on preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with technical expertise in industrial equipment and an ability to inspire a well-established team towards improved practices.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Technical Manager will directly oversee a maintenance team, lead capital expenditure projects, and ensure that all equipment meets industry standards, especially relevant in the automotive sector.
A major part of this role will involve overseeing the transfer and integration of production equipment from another country, enhancing automation processes, and optimizing equipment maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Management: Develop and implement maintenance strategies, focusing on predictive maintenance and process optimization through a recently introduced software solution.
- Capital Project Involvement: Lead key investment projects, including the relocation of production assets. Provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Supplier & Budget Management: Collaborate with local and international suppliers, leveraging autonomy to identify innovative, cost-effective solutions. Support budget oversight with strategic input on equipment investments.
- Team Leadership & Communication: Manage a team of maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Drive effective communication with both local teams and global partners.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Uphold all safety regulations, ensuring the highest standards in facility management and equipment operation.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in industrial maintenance, technical expertise, and a track record of leading transformative maintenance projects. This person should excel in data-driven process improvements and be capable of fostering a collaborative, strategic approach within the team. Key Skills and Competencies:
- Experience: 5+ years in maintenance or engineering roles with a focus on industrial equipment and process improvement. Previous exposure to IATF or ATEX-certified environments is an advantage.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in industrial equipment maintenance, including cutting machines, conveyor systems, and heavy machinery. Familiarity with automation and PLC systems (Siemens preferred) is advantageous.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven success in managing technical teams and driving change within established structures.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is required for this role, with German language skills as an advantage.
