SAP PP / Manufacturing Consultant
Industrial Automation Industry
Location: Bucharest / Bucharest area preferred
Working model: Hybrid, with regular presence in the Bucharest office
Contract: Full-time, permanent role
Travel: Occasional international travel, approximately 20%
The Company
Our client is an international industrial technology company with a strong manufacturing footprint and a global business environment. The organization develops and produces advanced technical solutions for industrial customers and operates across multiple countries and production entities.
The company operates in a complex production environment and is currently strengthening its internal SAP competence center in Romania. This local team is part of a wider international SAP organization supporting business entities across Europe and Asia.
The SAP landscape is modern, diverse and evolving: the company works with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud and existing on-premise systems, while continuing international rollout and migration activities. The role is therefore placed at the intersection between real manufacturing operations, SAP support, process improvement and global template development.
The Role
We are looking for an SAP PP / Manufacturing Consultant who will support and further develop the production planning and manufacturing area within SAP.
This is an internal SAP role, close to the business and close to real production processes. The person will help ensure that manufacturing processes run correctly in SAP, that users receive proper support, and that production planning issues are understood, analysed and solved.
The role combines operational ownership with project exposure. Around 70% of the role will be support and ticket handling, while approximately 30% will involve project, rollout, change and improvement activities.
This is not a role for someone who only wants to design slides or coordinate from a distance. It is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys understanding how the system works, why an issue appears, how production data flows, and what needs to be corrected so that the business can continue working smoothly.
The ideal candidate is a strong mid-level SAP PP professional, ideally coming from an in-house SAP environment in a manufacturing company, or from consulting with strong hands-on exposure to production planning and manufacturing processes.
Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will support SAP PP / Manufacturing processes across an international SAP landscape, with focus on production planning, manufacturing execution and related integration topics.
- You will handle incidents, service requests and change requests related to SAP PP, investigating issues such as incorrect MRP results, production order errors, missing components, invalid production versions, wrong production dates, failed confirmations or goods receipt problems.
- You will work with key SAP PP objects such as Material Master, BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions, MRP, production orders, demand management and capacity planning.
- You will collaborate with business users, key users, internal SAP colleagues and implementation partners to analyse requirements, propose solutions, test changes and support successful implementation.
- You will contribute to SAP S/4HANA Public and Private Cloud rollout activities, release testing, regression testing and continuous improvement of the global SAP template.
- You will also support integration topics with adjacent SAP modules such as MM, WM/EWM, QM, SD and CO, where these impact manufacturing, material availability, warehouse staging, quality inspection or production costing.
The Candidate
We are looking for someone with solid hands-on experience in SAP PP / Manufacturing, ideally gained in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
The most important requirements are:
- Strong SAP PP knowledge, especially in discrete manufacturing, production planning and production order management.
- Good understanding of manufacturing master data, including Material Master, BOMs, routings, work centers and production versions.
- Practical troubleshooting experience, especially around MRP, production orders, confirmations, goods receipt, demand management and capacity-related issues.
- Understanding of SAP integration points, particularly with MM, WM/EWM, QM, SD and CO.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, ideally Public or Private Cloud. Strong SAP PP on-premise experience is also relevant if the functional depth is strong.
- Analytical and hands-on mindset, with the ability to investigate root causes, understand system logic and work through complex operational issues.
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to explain SAP topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of variant configuration, make-to-order, Kanban/JIT, repetitive manufacturing, batch management, serial numbers, Fiori Apps, SAP Cloud ALM or ChaRM would be considered an advantage, but not mandatory.
Attractive Aspects
This role offers the chance to join an international SAP team at a moment when the Romanian SAP competence center is being further developed. You would not be entering a very large structure where responsibilities are narrowly divided and visibility is limited. Instead, you would become part of a lean, international team where your expertise matters and where you can build a clear role in the manufacturing area.
The position is attractive for someone who likes to stay close to the real business. You will not only work with abstract SAP concepts, but with concrete production questions: why MRP did not create the right proposal, why a production order cannot be confirmed, why a BOM exploded incorrectly, why a production version is not valid, or why the warehouse, quality or sales process is blocking manufacturing execution.
At the same time, this is not only a support role. The company is working in a hybrid SAP landscape and is continuing its S/4HANA journey, including Public Cloud, Private Cloud and migration/rollout activities. This gives the role a broader perspective: you can solve today’s operational issues while also contributing to the future SAP template.
It is a particularly good opportunity for a SAP PP professional who wants to move from a very segmented environment into a role with broader ownership, international exposure and direct impact. The company values people who are practical, curious, autonomous and willing to understand the process behind the ticket.
You will work in a stable industrial company, in a permanent internal role, with exposure to global colleagues, international manufacturing entities and modern SAP technologies. For someone who wants to deepen SAP PP expertise in a real production environment, this is a role with substance, visibility and long-term development potential.
Application Process
If you meet the above criteria and are excited to take on a high-impact role, we encourage you to apply.
If this opportunity is not for you but you know someone suitable, feel free to share this ad with them.
We welcome resumes and/or recommendations in English until 24.07.2026.
The selection process will include an initial discussion with the executive search consultant to understand your SAP PP / manufacturing experience, motivation and expectations.
Shortlisted candidates will be presented to the client with a structured assessment and selected candidates will then meet the hiring manager and SAP team representatives for a more technical discussion focused on SAP PP scenarios, troubleshooting approach, production planning processes and fit with the international SAP environment.
All applications and discussions will be treated with strict confidentiality.
Please consider that only the suitable candidates will be contacted for interview, but we appreciate everyone’s interest in our projects and would like to keep in touch for future projects.
