THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading company in the manufacturing and distribution of food ingredients and packaging solutions, specializing in providing high-quality products to clients in the food industry. With a strong portfolio of strategic accounts within the bakery and confectionery industries, our client is expanding its presence in both the Romanian and international markets. The company values innovation, quality, and sustainability, aiming to lead in both customer satisfaction and industry standards.

THE ROLE

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing our client’s strategic client base in the food industry, particularly focusing on the bakery and confectionery sectors. This is a new position within the organization, created to enhance the company’s focus on high-value clients and to drive the growth of tailored product offerings. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring that customer needs are met while identifying new business opportunities.

Reporting directly to the Sales Director, this position requires both strategic thinking and hands-on client management. The Key Account Manager will act as the primary point of contact for key industrial clients and will collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality, customized solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients in the food industry, focusing on bakery and confectionery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Manage the entire client lifecycle, from initial contact and project scoping to post-sale support and relationship management.

Business Development:

  • Identify new business opportunities and potential growth areas within existing client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with the sales and product teams to develop and deliver customized solutions for clients.
  • Promote Company’s products and services to key decision-makers and influence purchasing decisions.

Project Management:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and design personalized product offerings that align with their business objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Develop and present regular reports on account status, sales performance, and opportunities for growth.

Strategic Contribution:

  • Contribute to the development of Company’s overall sales strategy and client engagement model.
  • Provide insights into market trends and client needs, helping to shape Company’s future offerings and services.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with the internal sales and marketing teams to ensure that client needs are met and that products are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Work with other departments (e.g., operations, logistics) to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery to clients.

THE CANDIDATE

Mandatory Technical Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a proven track record in managing key accounts, particularly in the food industry (bakery and confectionery experience is a plus).
  • Experience in managing relationships with large, strategic industrial accounts.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and manage complex client needs.
  • Language: Fluency in Romanian and English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Desirable Background:

  • Experience in sales of food ingredients, packaging solutions, or related products.
  • Familiarity with product customization and development based on client requirements.
  • Knowledge of Romanian and regional food industry standards, trends, and key players.

  • Client-focused with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and results-driven, with a focus on delivering measurable results and driving business growth.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative, with a willingness to work cross-functionally to meet client needs.
