THE ROLE
The IT Procurement & License Manager will oversee all aspects of IT procurement and license management, focusing on optimizing costs through strategic sourcing and vendor management.
Reporting to the VP of Global IT, with an indirect line to global procurement, this role combines strategic planning with hands-on operational responsibilities. This is a stand-alone role (no direct people under subordination) and will be crucial in building a comprehensive Software Asset Management (SAM) function from the ground up and managing contract renewals with major suppliers such as SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for IT hardware, software, and services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and a focus on cost optimization.
- Software Asset Management (SAM): Establish and manage SAM processes, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness across the organization’s software licenses and IT assets.
- Contract and Supplier Management: Lead high-value negotiations with global IT suppliers, manage vendor relationships, and support local buyers to drive cost savings and performance improvements.
- Operational Excellence: Handle the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, including renewals, procurements, and optimization for over 50 global entities with an annual spend exceeding EUR 10 million.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process enhancements within the procurement function, leveraging performance metrics and supporting local teams in building procurement capabilities.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will bring robust experience in IT asset management, procurement, and vendor relations, with the following qualifications:
- Experience: At least 5 years in IT procurement or software asset management within an international environment, ideally in manufacturing or technology sectors. A proven record of handling large-scale vendor relationships such SAP, Microsoft, Salesforce, etc and contract management, with experience in a matrix organization.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience in managing complex vendor contracts and software license compliance. Expertise in software license management, contract negotiation, and IT asset optimization, especially with vendors such as SAP, Microsoft, and Salesforce. Familiarity with ERP and SAM tools (ServiceNow, Flexera, etc.) is an advantage.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Able to navigate complex matrix organizations, with a proactive approach to aligning cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships across borders.
- Process Optimization: Demonstrated success in improving procurement processes and IT asset management efficiency, with a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance.
- Languages: Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
