INTERIM FINANCE CONTROLLER

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading international provider of innovative air technology solutions for commercial and industrial applications. Following a recent ownership change and a planned transition in the finance function, the company is now seeking an experienced Interim Finance / Business Controller to secure continuity of operations and support the business during this period.

THE ROLE

Position: Interim Finance / Business Controller
Start date: As soon as possible (handover available until 3 February)
Duration: Approximately 3–4 months
Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania (onsite initially, hybrid thereafter)
Reporting to: Country General Manager and functionally Regional Finance.
This interim mandate focuses on ensuring stability of financial processes, accurate reporting, and strong business partnering support during the transition to a new permanent hire.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly closing, financial reporting and analysis
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring
  • Strengthen internal controls and financial discipline across the organization
  • Provide profitability, cost and working capital analysis
  • Support strategic and operational decision-making through financial modelling and business case evaluation
  • Oversee group reporting using LucaNet and Excel formats
  • Coordinate with external payroll provider and manage internal data accuracy and reporting
  • Secure handover and knowledge transfer to the incoming permanent controller
  • Support transition related to new ownership and potential reporting changes

SCOPE

  • Combination of controlling and accounting/statutory responsibilities
  • Single legal entity: Romania
  • No direct reports, but strong cross-functional collaboration required
  • Close cooperation with local leadership and group regional finance

SYSTEMS & TOOLS 

  • ERP: Win Mentore Enterprise
  • Group reporting / consolidation: LucaNet + Excel
  • Payroll: external provider, with local coordination of data and statutory reporting

THE INTERIM 

The successful candidate will be an experienced Finance / Business Controller with:

  • solid background in controlling and financial reporting
  • hands-on experience with month-end close and budgeting processes
  • exposure to both statutory accounting and group reporting
  • experience in transition environments or change of ownership
  • strong business partnering and analytical skills
  • availability for an interim mandate and presence onsite in Cluj initially
  • Experience with LucaNet or similar consolidation tools is an advantage.
