THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a proactive and business-oriented Finance Manager to lead the financial function and contribute strategically to the company’s continued growth. The Finance Manager will oversee all aspects of financial planning, controlling, statutory accounting, and cash-flow management, playing a key role in translating financial data into actionable business decisions.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Finance Manager will supervise a small team (Chief Accountant, 2 Economists, and Payroll) and act as a key business partner to operations and commercial leadership.
This is a hands-on and strategic role for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, manufacturing environment where no two projects are the same.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Lead the company’s annual budget cycle and oversee rolling forecasts
- Monitor performance against budget, identify variances, and propose corrective actions
- Develop financial scenarios to model volatility in incoming orders and project-based delivery
Controlling & Profitability Analysis
- Ensure project-level controlling and cost tracking through ERP and Excel tools
- Analyze margins, overhead allocation, and section-level profitability (e.g., zinc coating line)
- Develop insights into fixed vs. variable cost dynamics based on changing production volumes
Cash-Flow & Liquidity Management
- Monitor and forecast operational cash flow needs weekly and monthly
- Manage relationships with banks, support optimization of financial terms and credit lines
- Propose initiatives to shorten the cash conversion cycle (e.g., client payment terms, inventory levels)
Statutory Accounting & Team Coordination
- Oversee all statutory accounting processes and compliance with Romanian legislation
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings
- Coordinate the activities of the Chief Accountant and finance team, ensuring autonomy and accountability
Reporting & Business Support
- Generate management reports, executive dashboards, and monthly P&L summaries
- Provide timely data to support strategic decisions by the Executive Team
- Act as a finance partner to production, sales, and logistics departments
Audit & Inventory Oversight
- Coordinate external audits and maintain relationship with auditors (Apex)
- Ensure tax and accounting compliance with evolving local legislation
- Oversee inventory analysis, stock valuation, and support inventory controls across multiple warehouses
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will be a results-driven finance professional with a strong background in manufacturing environments, ideally with experience in project-based production. Holding a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, they will bring at least 5–7 years of relevant experience in financial management, controlling, and statutory accounting.
Proven expertise in budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, and cost analysis is essential, along with the ability to lead a small team and communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a solid understanding of Romanian financial legislation and a proactive, business-oriented mindset.
Background & Experience
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial management or controlling role within a manufacturing company (preferably project-based production)
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, cost control, statutory accounting, and cash-flow forecasting
- Knowledge of Romanian GAAP and tax legislation is mandatory
- Experience using ERP systems (Oracle-based is a plus) and advanced Excel skills
