THE COMPANY
Our client is an international automotive products manufacturer, with the passion to create products that enable safe driving in demanding conditions since its founding in 1988. They decided to invest in a new greenfield factory in Oradea, an important regional and European hub of many transport routes. The total investment is estimated to be approximately EUR 650 million, which is among the most valuable investments in Romania in the recent years.
THE ROLE
We are searching for a Communications Manager. In this role you will be the voice of our client in Romania, managing both digital and traditional communication strategies. This role requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on execution, working closely with both local and global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage local social media channels (critical for recruitments), website and intranet.
- Reply to inquiries and comments on social media.
- Manage local media relations activities, respond to local media inquiries.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Romanian organization and the local communications agency.
- Create and distribute engaging content across various channels including press releases, newsletters, social media platforms, website, and internal communication channels.
- Monitor media coverage.
- Proactively identify and manage potential communication risks or crises, working closely with relevant stakeholders to develop response plans and ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Coordinate events and other public engagements to promote the organization’s activities and initiatives.
- Support internal stakeholders by providing communication guidance and materials as needed.
- Implement company’s communication strategies to effectively convey key messages to internal and external stakeholders (media, community, partners), in coordination with the global and CE MarCom teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, human resources, and operations to ensure consistency and alignment in messaging.
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will be an experienced PR & Communication specialist with strong digital skills. We are looking for a person who has experience with challenging communications tasks and is able to perform in many types of situations, and:
- You should be representative and able to meet high-level guest on your own and give presentations on behalf of the company (replacing the General Manager in highly visible set-ups).
- You should not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and take care of the practical everyday communications tasks.
- At least 3 years of experience in a communications role, ideally within the manufacturing industry or any other regulated industry. Applications coming from media industry who covered manufacturing / environment / utilities sectors are most welcome.
- Proficient in both Romanian and English, with strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences and channels in Romanian and English.
- Experience in managing social media and digital content, with a keen understanding of modern communication tools and platforms (experience with Meltwater is a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to both strategic planning and daily communication tasks.
- Located or willing to permanent relocation to Oradea
